My Story
HighImpact Leadership Development – Making a difference in the quality of account management
My passion for continuous improvement, curiosity, and appetite for learning, has fueled this exciting venture. My goal and motivation behind my company’s content is to make a difference in the quality of account management. HighImpact Leadership Development is not a large consultancy that provides costly programs that teach concepts in a general way and often by instructors who may not have done the job. I’ve been in the trenches doing this work hands-on with sales teams for 25 years. I want to make training accessible and impactful through affordable pricing and relevant material. The areas that I’ve chosen to spend time on are the areas where I have not only seen the largest skill deficit, but these are also the areas that will have a meaningful visible impact right away.
About Me
After graduating from University of Toronto’s MBA program in Finance, I made a career change into sales six years later. Since then, I’ve been in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry leading sales for 25 years. I’ve worked for large global branded companies such as PepsiCo, Nestle, Reckitt Benckiser and Mars. I’ve been leading teams since 2001. I’ve presented to every grocery, drug and mass retailer across the country during my career. I’ve also been a member of the country senior leadership team at four companies. Most recently I was VP Sales at Mars and Senior VP Customer Development at one of Canada’s largest broker agencies Acosta Canada. I’m now taking all of this experience and breadth of exposure and starting this new venture called HighImpact Leadership Development. My goal is to make a difference to the quality of account management, while pursuing my lifelong passion for learning.
MY SALES LEADERSHIP WORK EXPERIENCE
My Passion for Learning
During my university undergraduate studies I became a Teaching Assistant. I quickly discovered my love for shared learning and I continued down this path and became the Head Teaching Assistant for the Commerce program while I was taking my MBA at University of Toronto. During this time, I was also teaching courses for the School of Continuing Studies. Throughout my career, I have been very fortunate to have attended a vast amount of quality formal training, largely stemming from the breadth of companies that I’ve been a part of. This has also allowed me exposure to more cultures, performance management systems, planning processes and best practices than the average leader. My thirst for learning has been with me throughout my career. I am super excited to now be taking this knowledge and experience and pursuing a new business opportunity called HighImpact Leadership Development. My goal is to make a difference in the quality of account management through a select offering of formal training programs and project work which are affordable and therefore accessible and also highly relevant to the day to day activities of those involved in key accounts in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
